Our raised garden beds are different.  They make it easy!

Size, Position and Build

Beautiful Raised Beds - Safe, Built to Last!

Our wicking beds are safe, look great and built for harsh Aussie conditions

We only use stable, kiln dried timber that has been preserved with a copper & iron oxide based product.  This makes them food safe, and child friendly.  However we choose to fully line them anyway with a food-safe liner.

BEWARE – most landscapers use cheap CCA treated pine containing arsenic & chrome – we consider these UNSAFE FOR VEG.  And that cheap timber is sold wet so prone to warping, cracking and bending.

Our beds are long lasting, and look good for years.

Sunny, flat ground best, but ask us about options for shadier or sloped areas. They can sit on grass, concrete, soil or pavers.  Given they are lined, drainage can be directed from a side outlet.

Height:

Our larger beds are generally built 450mm high; perfect to:

  • Wick water to just below the surface (more...)

  • Allow good drainage and deep roots

  • Deter weed ingress and pets

  • Save you from kneeling!

Our smaller beds can be made as 850mm high planters - great for people who prefer no bending!

Depth:

We offer depths from 0.6m up to 1.4m - the maximum width to comfortable access from both sides.

Length:

Lengths tend to go from 1.4m to 3m and beyond.  However we are happy to accommodate custom sizes where they look to be successful.
